>> T.I. FEAT JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - Dead And Gone: Pop music’s busiest collaborators are at it again! T.I. and Justin Timberlake, having between them recently collaborated with the likes of Jamie Foxx, Nelly, Akon, L.L. Cool J, Madonna, Timbaland, Beyonce Snoop Dogg and Rihanna, have finally given us what we’ve all been waiting for - recording together on this awesome new track, Dead and Gone. With a ‘cello-and-brass-laden, orchestral hip hop sound (you read correctly!) and a haunting piano working beneath their call-and-answer raps, it’s obvious they’ve put all their recent practice to good use! Get this track before it’s (dead and) gone!
>> KELLY CLARKSON – My Life Would Suck Without You: . . . And our lives would suck without her! If you ever needed proof that Kelly Clarkson has come a long way from her American Idol days, this No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 track is it. A perfect slice of electro, synth-based guitar pop, Ms. Clarkson exorcises a few relationship demons on this rockin’ number, but don’t worry - you can still dance like crazy to it (and you definitely will!). She may be dealing with some regret in the lyrics, but Clarkson should have no regrets over releasing this track. Co-written and produced by hit makers Dr. Luke and Max Martin, this one is sure to add another notch to both their belts, and make Kelly Clarkson an even brighter star. A hot track for the cooler months; sure to get your patrons dancing!
>> FRANZ FERDINAND – Ulysses: There’s just not enough Homeric allegory in pop music these days! In this video we see the band confusedly navigating through a sleazy neon landscape of hotel rooms, alleyways and laundromats, appearing a bit worse for wear – but still absolutely gorgeous, of course. There seems to be a plot, although it’s too odd to explain, but something tells us that’s the whole intention of these Glaswegian art-rockers! A stomping, rollicking pop sing incorporating an almost dub bassline and a streak of dark electro, Ulysses will definitely get the party started – just make sure you’re ready for it!
>> CASSIE DAVIS – Like It Loud: In times of economic trouble and hardship, we can rely on Cassie Davis – this video alone has kept the cosmetic industry in business! Hailing from Perth, Davis proves on this, her debut release, that she likes everything – including her lip colour – to be loud, loud, loud! Mixing a choppy guitar riff, a beeping synth and some wicked hip hop-style verses, as well as a lyrical reference to Australia’s own original rocker, Johnny O’Keefe, Like It Loud seems to have it all and more. This one will be big, so make sure you hear it before everyone else does!
